Irene (Couch) Agin. Born May 11, 1921 to Donald and Anna Couch in Fairpoint, OH, passed away December 30, 2018. Preceded in death by husband Roy and brother Don Couch. Survived by sons, John David (Lisa) and James (Cheri); brother, Charles; sister, Christie Huff; granddaughter, Joy Burnett; and several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Irene was an artist and longtime member of the Women's Art Guild of Central Ohio. She was a lifelong member of Hilliard United Methodist Church. Irene was a 44 year breast cancer survivor. A memorial service will be held 4 pm Wednesday, January 16, 2018 at TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026 with Pastor Karen Muntzing officiating. www.tiddfuneralservice.com

Encouraged my drawing from day one. She kept the drawing of a boxer I had done when I was about 7 years old. Great Lady!

Beginning in 9th grade and continuing through 11th grade, Jim, John Biggers and I would stop at the Agin's house on the way home after school, (unless there was a sport practice or detention, which was far too often.)
"Mrs. Agin" as we respectfully called her, was our collective "after school mother" since both John's and my mothers worked outside the home until 5 or 6 pm.
No one can ever know how any one of the people we meet impact us over our lifetimes, but I know I became a better person for having known her.
So many funny stories . . . I will just say that anytime I see a woman glaring at her child with arms crossed, (and with a half-smile), I will be thankful for having known her.

David and Jimmy (at least that was what we called you circa 1954 & 1955) - - I remember times at Yonker's on Marblehead with your family. Very happy times and good memories. Your mom and dad were fine people. I hope your mother was not suffering during her last years. She lived a long life. My mom died in Oct. but was unhealthy last few years. Dad died previous Dec. but was in fine shape till his last six months. They were 96 no 95. Just wanted to convey my sympathy and tell you I have always remembered your family.
