Isabel "Betts" Hamwi

Hamwi To Our Mom, Isabel "Betts" Hamwi, who passed March 18, 2014 at the age of 95 at First Community Village in Upper Arlington, Ohio. Devoted to family, perpetually dedicated to her husband, Dr. George Hamwi, who preceded her in death in 1967. She is survived by her three sons, John, Paul and Alan; and her grandchildren, Kym, Kristopher and Elizabeth on whom she doted. Her accomplishments were many, a graduate of Smith College, an original Docent and Charter Member of the Women's Board of the Columbus Museum of Art and member of Group Y at First Community Church to name a few. But her true legacy is her investment in the people that she included in her extended family. She managed to keep the hearts of all who knew her as full as her cookie jar that became legendary on Club Road. A true Grande Dame of Upper Arlington and Columbus. We mourn her passing and with her the end of an era. Your presence is missed. A private family service will be held.
