Ivan Dean Adams

ADAMS Ivan Dean Adams, age 51, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 21, 2009, with his family by his side after a year long battle with cancer. He was born on November 27, 1957 in Marietta, the son of Gene and Opal Adams. Ivan was a 1975 graduate of Marion Franklin High School, Columbus State College and a Journeyman apprenticeship. Ivan also served his country in the U.S. Army from 1976 to 1979. He loved to fish and travel with his family and friends. He enjoyed spending his time working around the house and working on all types of projects that required both skill and patience. Ivan worked for Owens-Illinois for 25 years and was planning to retire from there before his illness took his life. Ivan devoted his life to his family and will be greatly missed. "The rock of our family has gone to his final resting place." He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Pearl Adams, maternal grandmother Elzina Cunningham. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and devoted wife of 33 years, Janice Jones Adams of Columbus, Ohio; his daughter, Felicia Adams of Columbus, Ohio; son, Ivan Adams Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; beloved grandchildren, Alexis, Shyanne, Montez; mother, Opal Adams; father, Gene Adams; sister, Susan Adams all of Waterford, Ohio; brother, Doug Adams of Columbus, Ohio; grandmother, Luella Adams; and a host of nieces, nephews; aunts, uncles; and cousins.
