Many sympathies! It is hard for a parent to lose a child.
Jacques was my "little brother" in a-phi-o at grove city. I am so saddened to hear of his passing. He was such a joy to be with and I will miss him.

I just found out tonight. I'm so sorry for your family's loss, and am saddened that we'll never get to talk shop about firearms, computers, and the great outdoors again. I've still got some good Grove City memories of you, Jacques. I had a drink tonight in your honor.

I knew Jacques in high school. My mother recently shared this sad news with me. I remember Jacque as having a big sense of adventure, and also as kind, gentle and generous.

I'll truly miss you, Jacques. You were a great co-worker and friend. Your ability to mix real results with a bit of goofiness was a big help during our DR tests.

I know I will see you again in a place where Unix boxes don't crash and filesystems never fill up.

My thoughts and prayers go out to your family at this time. Never doubt the impact Jacques had on people.

Jacque, Joyce, Brian... It meant so much to me to have been able to see and meet with you. Jacque was a true friend who won't be forgotten. Please keep in touch. I want to do whatever it is I can to help and can come down at a moment's notice. Again, such a loss to all of us and my thoughts are with you always.

I am very sorry for your loss. Jacques and I worked very closely together at Checkfree and we used to work day and night together for the DR events. He was a very good friend to me. We had many long talks and good laughs together. After we both changed jobs few years ago, we lost touch with each other. He always had smile on his face and readily lend out a helping hand. He will be deeply missed. And as Stephen said, all of the ex-Collective and those at Checkfree share the family's loss.

My Nephew Eric:
ADD kid; underwater swimmer;
you and I had excelled in technical matters, while our younger siblings were more socially graceful. In our family, you were my counterpart in your generation.

In many ways, you were a mirror in which I could see myself. You were also the very best Linux guru I ever consulted.

I didn't get to see much of you, but always thought I would get to later. I Miss you.
-- Uncle Herb

Joyce, Jacques, Brian, Petrova, and Aidan:
Having no way to get there, I am with you in spirit. My heart goes out to you.
I love you!
I do hope I will get to see you see you all while that is still possible.
-- Herb

Dearest Jacques, may you rest, our dear friend, with the knowledge that you are loved and have served as a joy and inspiration to so many. Your smile and spirit will live with us, always

I'm truly at a loss for words. Jacques was one of several of us who used to work together and several years later still meet regularly for lunch, help each other with personal and professional projects, and are in almost daily communication. I had not heard from Jacques in a few weeks, but didn't think anything of it.

Jacques was a wonderful friend, and a truly great person. I felt a special bond, having shared much coincidental history with him. Although I've never met any of his family, I felt like I knew them from his stories.

I know I speak for all of the ex-Collective Technologies team when I say how deeply we share the family's loss.
