I remember cousin Jim fondly. He was such a kind individual. He took such good care of mom and dad (Gordon/Betty Leonard) throughout the years, and was really helpful to dad when he was will. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

I remember "Dr. Jim" as one of the nicest men I ever knew. When I was very young I hit my chin on the basement stairs and Dr. Jim came to our house to give me stitches. I was so little that he had to wrap my hands to I wouldn't try and physically stop him. The day I got my stitches out, I hit my chin on the coffee table and reopened the wound. When Dr. Jim came out yet again to stitch me up, I remember vividly asking him to "please not wrap me up in those rags". He very calmly told me that if I would sit on my hands and not let them go, he wouldn't. I did as I was told, and he hugged me after he was done. I must have been about 3, but I will never forget that specific gesture of kindness. He remained my family doctor until I left Columbus in 1976.
Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.

To the Mason family, our sincere condolences on the loss of your father and mother. While we worked together, your parents would stop in and they were always so friendly and kind. When I was facing my 1st hip replacement surgery, Bill - you gave your father my phone number and he called me at home to offer his expert advice and kind words which gave me tremendous comfort. Jerry always looked forward to your dad's visits. Your father was such a gentleman. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time.

It is hard to put into words what the Mason family has meant to the Kelly family. Starting with the friendship of our parents' to the life saving medical expertise of Dr.Mason who took our father under his wing and extended his life by 25 yrs. I personally cannot thank the entire Mason family enough. There are no words.

Dr. Mason was a kind, wonderful man and a great physician. He was our family doctor for decades and decades. I first met him when he gave the team physicals for our 8th grade football team at Jones Junior High -- must have been 1960 or 1961.
I will always remember his caring and compassion for my parents in their final years. A truly wonderful man and physician.

I wanted to let you know what an impact your father had on my life. He became my Doctor when I was five years old, and remained my primary Doctor until he retired. He always had a kind word. He remembered everything you told him. He was what every Doctor should be...kind, gentle and caring. I am sorry for your loss, it is truly a loss for every person who ever came in to contact with him. I am honored to have known him.

I became Dr. Mason's patient when he joined Dr. Rardin's practice back in the 1950's. He was the dreamy young Dr. Kildare of our day, and all the girls my age made up illnesses so they could go visit him! I lived with my grandmother, who didn't drive, and Dr. Mason made several house calls to our home to take care of me. He had a special quality that instilled trust, and I knew that he honestly cared about our whole family. I have always considered him to be the ideal image of a doctor: knowledgeable, kind, gentle and wise. I am sending my condolences to the entire Mason Family on both of your recent losses. It is a sad time for all of us who have thought so highly of the Masons for all these decades.

Dr. Mason became our family doctor in 1959 and was like a family member. My three children had no other doctor growing up to adult hood. What a wonderful friend he became. After 2 trips back to see him in 1975, he told me I had to get a doctor in CA, so I finally did, but none compared to him. Gloria Morrow Ridgecrest, CA
