James MowBray Obituary

MowBray, James "Dave"
1949 - 2021
Dave MowBray, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Dave was a life-long resident of Columbus, Ohio. Dave was preceded in death by his parents Marjorie Scott (MowBray), stepfather Harold Scott and nephews Sean Wilson and Robert Wilson. Dave is survived by his daughter, Tracey (Christopher) Spring; step grandson, Aaron (Madeline) Spring; along with 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Vikkie (Ron Johnson) Wilson and Roxanne (Dean) Maxwell; nephews, Eric Whitt (Alesia), Joshua Whitt; and several great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. Dave graduated from Columbus North High School in 1967 and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Dave worked many years as an I.T. Specialist, including at Battelle, Information Dimensions Inc. (IDI) and Visions Service Plan (VSP), and was quite the "Techie". Dave was an avid fan of the Buckeyes, Blue Jackets, and all Ohio sports teams. Dave loved and cared for his family deeply. Those who knew Dave saw a dear, sweet, and kind man who always put others and his family before himself. His quiet nature was accented by his clever wit and a warm sense of humor. The family will hold a private service to honor Dave and will receive friends on Tuesday, March 2 from 5-6pm at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans. Please visit www.schoedinger.com to leave memories and condolences for Dave's family.

I've had a great opportunity to get to know my Brother-in Law, Dave.
The cherished brother of my treasured Vikkie. I've learned what a real
deep kindness he brought to those close to him - and to the world.
I am so glad that so many friends and family had a chance to recognize his many gifts.
And speaking of gifts. Christmas was his Joy. he would plan all year and really research gifts for the whole family - ever and always finding the gift the perfect match for all. People talk about how someone's face can light up. That was Dave, as he explained how a gift worked, or where he found it and why "this was it!".
Yes, everyone has got it right - kind, generous, involved and loving his family. All you had to do - was look at his eyes.
Loved and Missed
Brother - in Law

'Dave' was the best co-worker and friend that a person could ever hope to have. Because we worked together on a daily basis in Battelle/IDI's Computer Lab, we became close friends...and have remained friends after my resignation in 1991. He is one of the kindest people I have ever known, and I am grateful for all of the kindnesses he has shown me over the past 33 years. His incredible problem-solving skills, his desire to help whenever help was needed, and his spontaneous sense of humor attributed to a pleasant work environment for everyone. He will be terribly missed. Love and prayers for his family, especially his daughter, Tracey, whom he adored and loved with all of his heart. Rest in peace, cherished friend.
