He was like a father to my husband, Nick and an amazing friend to both of us. We still talk of him often and we will forever miss him. He never had an unkind word to say about anyone. My husband always said he wanted to be more like Jimmy. We know he is in heaven and shining on us. We miss you, Jimmy!!

Oh how we will miss you Jim! And how you lived your life - such a great example to laugh every day and have fun. He told great stories of his business success and having fun while doing it. Even near the end he somehow was still fun calling to plot his escape to Greece and planning the adventure. We'll always remember you Jim and your example how to live a great life. Have fun, do the right thing, and be kind to everyone.

No one could have had a better friend, I knew Jim for 50 years, while in business for 25 of those years we ate lunch nearly every day, which led to golf or Gin Rummy, we had a blast together. Anyone who knew Jimmy was richer for it, he was a kind and compassionate man and I will miss him dearly. I know in my family gatherings his name will always come up, my kids were just as fond of him.
He left us for now, but he will remain as always in his daughter Mary Lynn, they were exactly alike.

Mrs. Paul,
Growing up, I will always remember the large container of individually wrapped pretzels my brother and I received at Christmas time every year from you and Mr. Paul. You saved all of our thank you notes and when we got much older, shared them with us. I cannot begin to tell you how deeply touched we were, that you had saved all of them from both of us, all those years.
I fondly remember working for my dad's company as a teenager during the summers; Mr. Paul would come every day around the noon hour to pick up my dad and the two would go to lunch. The summer before I turned sixteen, he talked to me about cars; in particular what car my dad was going to purchase for me when I obtained my driver's license. At the time, I could not have imagined having a better President for my fan club than Mr. Paul.
Saturday afternoons my dad could be found in a Gin Rummy game with Mr. Paul at the club; I remember he always smelled like a box of cigars when he came home.
I remember as a youngster when we would vacation in Florida during the school winter or spring break, the highlight of the trip was going to Fort Lauderdale and getting to see the Pauls.
It has always been evident to me just how much my dad valued his friendship with the man he fondly and commonly referred to as Jimmy Paul. My dad often has reminisced about the fact the two were business competitors, but ate lunch together every day for years. He talked about the fact that Jimmy was a man who never had an unkind word to say about anyone, ever and was truly a genuine individual and friend.
My daughter who is now seventeen often will ask me to recall my favorite childhood memories; I can't help but share with her the story of the individual wrapped pretzels and my first car.
My deepest sympathies,
Kelly Fabyan

Dear Helen,
I was saddened to hear of Jimmy's passing.
It was a pleasure knowing Jimmy socially at Brookside and professionally. I was glad to have been able to help you but more importantly, to know you both.
May your sorrow be replaced by the many good memories of your life together.
Emphatically,
Scott E. Smith
