Jim was indeed a gentleman and a professional in the truest sense of the word. He was also a devoted family man. He will be missed.

Such a gentleman! Jim was always a pleasure to be with, whether at a benefit party, chatting in the gallery at the Heckerling Institute, working on a valuation matter, or just passing on the street. He will be missed by me, and I'm sure by all who knew him. Steve and Gann and the whole extended family - you were so blessed to have had Jim as part of your lives. He will live forever in your hearts.

My condolences go out to the entire Roberts Family at this very difficult time. I have only been with MPI for two years, yet i was fortunate enough to have worked with JOR on a fairly large project in early 2004, and for that i am thankful.
He was so gracious and kind to me, always taking the time to say hello when in the Princeton office. He will be missed by all.

Dear Family,
I am a sixty-one year life insurance agent from Tennessee who has gone to the Heckerling Institute for thirty years. I had the pleasure of dinner with Jim and others one year and mostly looked forward to chatting with him at the booth. He treated me like I was an old friend.
Cherish the memories.
Peace,
Steve Renner

Although Wendy and I never knew Mr. Roberts, we do know his son Stephen, his wife Patty, and their daughters, Lily and Faith. Mr. Roberts must have been a wonderful father and grandfather. He obviously instilled in his children and grandchildren kindness, thoughtfulness, and a love of learning. These are all pieces of a wonderful legacy he left. Our deepest sympathy to his wife and to the family and friends he touched throughout his life.

Thoughts and prayers are with Jim's family and loved ones during this difficult time. He will live on in the memories of the countless individuals he touched with his love, his generosity, his wonderful sense of humor and his kind, gracious nature. What a beautiful example he set in the living of his life. He is deeply missed, but never to be forgotten.

Dear Steve and Gann,
Sandy and I are truly saddened by the news of Jim's passing.
On a professional level, Jim was, without question, the best salesperson with whom I have worked. During his career, Jim sold glass and valuation reports, but essentially he was selling himself. Jim was naturally likeable and trustworthy. His success over the years is a tribute to his personal qualities and hard work. He cannot be replaced.
On a personal level, Jim was even more outstanding. I, as a family man, looked to Jim as a model. I, like Jim, enjoy nothing more than family vacations. I'm sure Jim enormously enjoyed your recent trip to London. I'm also sure that Jim's children and grandchildren will always cherish their memories of Jim and this trip. I will miss Jim as a role model.
One of my favorite photographs of my family was taken by Jim at one of our old MPI picnics.
I won't forget that.
It was a privilege just to know Jim.
We will miss him very much. I already do.
Sincerely,
Tom and Sandy Egan and Family
