James Rowe Obituary

Rowe, James David
1994 - 2018
James David Rowe, 23, of Granville, now rests peacefully in the arms of God Our Father (June 11, 2018). James lived life to the fullest, always with an energy and desire to make others smile or laugh – and he did just that with his handsome face, a million-dollar smile, and those deep brown soul-filled eyes. James meant THE WORLD to his family, and they to him. James' intelligence, curiosity, and bottomless thinking took him down many paths in life. Sometimes ending at peaks and other times in valleys. Regardless of the finish, James never stopped loving, believing, working hard, or striving to overcome life's obstacles. He attended grades 1 – 9 at Canal Winchester Schools before moving to Granville where he resided with his dad and finished his high school education. James enjoyed working and hunting outdoors, watching sports, buying clothes!, listening to music, buying shoes!, reading an occasional novel, buying cologne!, and watching movies. James is preceded in death by his uncles Gregory Rowe and Don Carl, and grandfathers Perry 'Pete' Rutherford, Gobel Rowe, and James 'Jim' Miller. Survived by his loving and faithful "momma", Michelle (Rutherford) Cox; loving and devoted, father Glenn Rowe; step-father, Jim Cox; brothers, Justin Cox and Trevor Cox; sister, Jessica Cox; grandmothers, Bonnie Rutherford and Mary Miller; uncles, Ed (Julie) Rutherford and Willard Carl; aunts, Bernadette Rowe, Juanita (Melvin) Herb, Murriel (Jim) Patrick; cousins, Eddie Rutherford, Sara Rutherford, Sue Adkins, Jason Carl, and Shannen Schucker; his faithful canine companion, Zeus; and many extended family and friends. Family will receive friends Friday, June 15 from 10am-12noon at COTNER FUNERAL HOME, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, Ohio. James' celebration of life service will follow at 12pm. Pastors Jeff Greenway, Carl Wiley, and Ed Rutherford officiating. Interment Franklin Hills Cemetery, Lithopolis, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in James' memory to Tyler's Light, P.O. Box 526, Pickerington, Ohio 43147 or to The Wiley Center of Associates in Family Care, 7602 Slate Ridge Blvd., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068. James and I were friends In High school, and remand friends after. We often talked on the phone and communicated through face book. We haven't spoke recently, last time was about 6 months ago. There wasn't a time, he didn't make me smile, or laugh. When I was in a bad mood, he would lift up my spirits. I could talk to him for hours. I promise, he had the biggest heart, I had ever experienced in my life. I will be PRAYING for your family, and keeping you in my thoughts. May you have peace and comfort very soon

Dear Michelle,

Words cannot accurately express my sadden heart to hear about James. I have many fond memories of our much too brief time together. He had a special, insightful mind and personality that I always appreciated and held dearly. And while I know his presence will be painfully missed, I know his spirit will continue to live in you and your family in the years to come!
Again, my most sincere condolences to you and your family. Continue to hold each other tight!

Much Love -
