Janet Shuey Obituary

SHUEY Janet B. Shuey, age 81, of Upper Arlington, passed away peacefully in her sleep on her husband's birthday, Tuesday, July 21, 2009. She was born November 7, 1927 in Martinsburg, Pa. to the late Austin and Golda (Acker) Bonebreak. Janet was a member of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, where she was a volunteer in the library every Tuesday. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, community volunteer, and most importantly a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by her husband of 59 years John H. Shuey, who died on May 4, 2009, and brothers Max, Byron and Gerald Bonebreak. Janet is survived by her children, Pamela (Charles) Snyder, Nancy (Richard) Sloan, and Jill (Doug) Davis; grandchildren, Jennifer (Matthew) Beal, Charles R. Snyder, III (Gina Zilioli), Stephanie Sloan, Melanie Sloan, Bethany (Craig) Hathaway and Kristyn Cawley; great-grandchildren, Emma Grace Beal and Austin Joseph Beal; brother, Richard (Sue) Bonebreak; sister, Joan Whited; sisters-in-law, Alma Bonebreak, Thara Bonebreak, Pauline (Earl) Wenrich and Arlene (Joseph) Hetzel; many nieces, nephews; and friends at John of Holland. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2009 at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, 2300 Lytham Road, Columbus, Ohio 43220, where friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service, Reverend John Stolzenbach officiating, A reception will be held immediately following the service. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Hummelstown Cemetery, Hummelstown, Pa. Contributions may be made in Janet's memory to Upper Arlington Lutheran Church.
