Age 43, of Waupaca, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born April 8, 1971 the son of John Meronek Jr and Paula Scouton. He graduated from Waupaca High School with the class of 1990. Before his car accident, Jason was an avid outdoorsman, fishing, hunting and caring for animals. He loved working for Ross Turner Farms and Bobs Bleu Cheese House. He was a fan of the Waupaca Comets, Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. Jason loved volunteering at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King and listening to the many stories that the veterans had to share.

Jason is survived by his father, John (Loretta) Meronek Jr.; brother, Justin (Shellie) and their children, Jordan, Gabriel and Chirstien; grandmother, Mary Lou Niemuth; nephew, Josh Meronek; step-brother, Jeff (Jennifer) Johnson and their children Ed, Schyanne, Jacob and Zack; step-sister, Brenda (Jerry) Schwartz and their sons Christopher and Thomas; uncle, Tom Darinski and his daughter, Elizabeth (Jesse) Crain; aunt, Carol (Stan) Coon and their children, Colleen, Michael, Shawn and Cathy; aunt, Barb Schwartz and her children, Steve, Vincent and Jerry; uncle, Darrell (Karen) Meronek and their children Brenda, David, Anna, Mark and Mike; aunt, Diane (Ed) Schultz and their sons Brian, Rodney and Danny; special friends, David Prellwitz, Richard Mohr and Timothy Akey. He was preceded in death by his sister, Michelle Meronek; aunt and Godmother, Gail Darinski; mother, Paula Scouton; grandpa Norman Niemuth; grandma and grandpa Marian and John Meronek Sr.

A Celebration of Jason's Life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca. Friends and family may gather on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Barton Cemetery at a later date.
