Jay Leon Robertson

ROBERTSON Jay Leon Robertson, age 72, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2011 at his home. He spent his grammar school and high school days in Pocatello, Idaho. Jay served a 2 1/2 year mission to Sweden for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1959. In 1963, he married his sweetheart, Mary F. Hasfurther in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He earned his Bachelor's of Science Degree from Utah State University. Jay and his family have been residents of Dublin, Ohio since 1985. At the time of his retirement, he had been Sr. Vice President at Worthington Foods. Previous to Worthington Foods, he had worked for Golden Valley Foods, Jeno's, Pillsbury and Green Giant. Jay served loyally in various church positions, the last being Bishop of the Dublin Ward. He enjoyed the outdoors including sailing, skiing, baseball, golf and working with Quarter horses. During his life, Jay enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary; mother-in-law, Mary S. Hasfurther of St. George, Utah; daughter, Michelle Robertson of Phoenix, Arizona; sons, Eric (Teri) Robertson, of Dublin, Ohio and Brian (Aliandra) Robertson of Lewis Center, Ohio; four grandchildren, Alec, Austin, Lillian and Lucas. His siblings include his sisters, Myrna (Jay) Grayson, Jean (Tim) Miller, Ellen (William) Call; and his brother, Kevin (Pennie) Robertson. Jay is preceded in death by his parents Homer and Reba Robertson and his father-in-law Wilfrid M. Hasfurther.
