Joan Troyer Obituary

Troyer Joan Cecelia Mauck Troyer, 86, native of Columbus, OH, passed away on February 16, 2014. She was born on June 16, 1927. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration majoring in Transportation Economics on December 20, 1951. Joan was a former member of the Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission and the Bicycle Corridor Planning Commission. She worked in investment banking for many years. She was a member of the Moose Lodge #11 (Golden Moose Club), Grove City Senior Center, Prairie Lincoln Village Senior Citizen Center and the American Legion Auxiliary, Don Gentile Post #532 (through her sister Mary F. Caito, U.S. Coastguard). Joan traveled with Mosier Tours for many years with her sister. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert N. Troyer, son Robert N. Troyer Jr., parents John Franklin Mauck Sr. and Mary Anabel (Walker) Mauck, brother William Harold Mauck, sisters Virginia Louise Mauck and Mary F. Caito, and niece Teresa Mauck. She is survived by children, Karol Lynne Troyer, D.V.M., Joanne Marie Zanetos Wehrs, D.N.P.,M.S.N.,R.N. (Roger A. Wehrs), Eric Joseph (Ann M.) Troyer, P.E., Mary Frances (Eric B.) Thacker, R.D. and Theodore Robert Troyer; grandchildren, Lana Kim Troyer, Thomas and Michael Zanetos, Emily, Daniel and Samuel Troyer and Trenton and Kristina Thacker; brother, John F. (Barbara) Mauck, Jr.; and nieces and nephews, including those in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia and many friends. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Grove City Church of the Nazarene, 4770 Hoover Road, Grove City, OH. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the South Carolina Autism Society, 806 12th Street, West Columbia, SC 29169 or at www.scautism.org.
