John Oliver Riddle

RIDDLE John Oliver Riddle, age 83, of Columbus, Ohio went to be with the Lord, Friday, August 4, 2006. Preceded in death by parents John A. and Elizabeth Riddle, sisters Katheryn Cassell and Willa Belle Riddle. Survived by loving wife of 58 years, Darlene (McKenzie) Riddle; son, John (Lori); daughter, Katheryn (Alex); and grandchildren, Janelle, Rocky, Andrew, Max and Simon. He was a long time member of Eastview United Methodist Church. John was a 45 year employee of the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway, beginning his railroad career at his birthplace of Ashland, Kentucky and retiring as Superintendent of Operations for the Ohio Division in Columbus, Ohio. After retirement, he continued in his love of railroading by serving in various positions with the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway. John served his country as a member of the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during WWII. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio, where services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. (visitation one hour prior). Rev. Darrel Loar, officiating with Rev. Dwayne Shugert, assisting.
