John R. Schmidt

SCHMIDT John R. Schmidt, 90, of Harris-Askins House, Westerville, formerly of Alliance, passed on May 26, at Columbus Colony. Born June 24, 1920 in Akron, OH, was a veteran of World War II, served in the U. S. Army Medical Corps. Mr. Schmidt attended St. Paul's Catholic Church and their K of C. He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl (Mike) Helsel of Gahanna; three grandsons, Jon (Dani) and children, Alex, Emmalynn and Jonathan, Ben (Jen) and Andy; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at SHARER-STIRLING-SKIVOLOCKE FUNERAL HOME, Alliance, OH on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Regina Coeli Catholic Church, 633 Fernwood Blvd., Alliance, on Wednesday June 1, 2011 at 10 a.m. Interment, with military honors will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
