Joseph Mazzola Obituary

MAZZOLA Joseph P. Mazzola, age 77, died Friday, March 6, 2009 at home. A graduate of Aquinas College High School, he was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Marine Corps. Joe was the retired owner of All City Parts, Inc., an accomplished athlete and an avid sports fan, a long-time member of Riviera Country Club, and a charter member of St. Peter Church. He is survived by Judy, his wife of 47 years; children, Lori (Steve) Byorth, Kathy (Peter) Stortz of Zurich, Switzerland, C.J. (Megan) Mazzola of Atlanta, Ga., Joni (Chris) O'Connell of Pickerington, Greg (Jen) Mazzola of W. Palm Beach, Fla., Nicole (fiance Nathan Klingel) Mazzola; 11 grandchildren also survive him, Andrew, Chris and Luke Byorth, Ryan, Michael and Tyler Stortz, Emily, Madison, and Landon O'Connell, Tristan and Macy Mazzola; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his brothers Larry and Ralph. Friends may call Monday 4-8 p.m., Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m., at the EGAN-RYAN NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 4661 Kenny Rd. Funeral Mass Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Church, 6899 Smoky Row Rd. In lieu of flowers friends who wish may contribute in his memory to HomeReach Hospice at www.ohiohealth.com .

I was sorry that I could not attend the funeral becasue I was out of state. But I will always remember Joe as an intellegent, gentle and loving man. I worked with him as a client for several years and feel priveledged to have known him. He will be sorely missed.
