Joseph Utlak Obituary

UTLAK Joseph Utlak, age 85, Monday, August 1, 2011 at home. Veteran WW II, US Navy. Retired as Battalion Chief Cleveland Fire Dept. Member St. Brendan Church, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, Ohio Fire Chiefs Assoc., American Legion, Moose Lodge and Electricians Union, Local 306. Preceded in death by parents George and Susan Utlak and a brother Michael. Survived by loving wife of 60 years, Anna Spisak Utlak of Hilliard, OH; children, Dr. David Joseph Utlak and wife, Barbara of Canton, OH, Deborah Ann and husband, Dr. Victor Cook of Columbus, OH; grandsons, David Robert Utlak, Jeffrey Joseph Cook and wife, Ashley, Dr. Christopher Robert Cook and wife, Dr. Ratna and Michael Victor Cook; great-grandchildren, Owen and Elena Cook; many other relatives and friends. Friends may call Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the EGAN-RYAN NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 4661 Kenny Rd. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Brendan Church, 4475 Dublin Rd. Burial with military honors 11:30 a.m. Monday at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in his memory to VITAS Hospice Care, 655 Metro Place South, Suite 770, Dublin, OH 43017.

this is hard for me to do since im not there. to tell you in person. when i was a little girl, joe gave me quarter to go get ice cream i was 12 now im 71. and its like yesterday. he looks so handsome in the uniform and hat, he loved his job, family and friend. so joe this is your sister in law maryann, i know your up with your parents and mine. john and i will miss you very much. i will pray for anna and debbie and david. they will need our prayers now too. can't say goodbye just see u soon. john and maryann.
