Please accept the sincere sympathy of the Narcross family for the loss you have suffered of a great doctor and a wonderful human being.
I remember Dr. Whitlatch coming to the house when I was little and had the flu. I remember the lollipops with the looped safety stick. I remember that even as a child, he listened seriously to what I had to say. And when I had to go to the emergency room, just the mention of his name by the dear neighbor who took me there got me immediate attention. (Good thing, too -- that may have saved my life.)
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dr. Whitlatch was our family doctor for about 20 years. My children and I simply adored him. I remember he would call to see how one of the kids where doing when they were really sick. I slept better having him as our doctor.
He received a special challenge with my grandmother, she was not particularly fond of doctors. He would make house calls when possible. I can remember how gentle and kind he was to her.
Boy, you can't find a doctor like that anymore!!
My sincere sympathy in your loss, he will be sorely missed.

dear Gloria: I always remember
"Dr. Joe" calling to tell me that I should find another manager because he was marrying you and taking you away. He brought so much joy to all of those who knew him and you gave him so many wonderful years. We were all blessed by him and by you.

As a child, my family lived a few doors away on Wellesley Rd and I still remember the white 2-story house & shutters. I remember Dr.Joe's office and him bringing his black bag to our house for occassional house calls! I was never afraid of "the doctor". Hope he runs into my mom & dad in heaven; they'll be glad to see him. With sympathy from the Hayes kids,Kristy,Scott & Kevin

We grew up on the next street over from the Whitlatch Family who lived on Wilson Avenue. Joe whitlatch was a life guard at Crystal Swimming Pool where he taught me to dive into the pool. This was only the beginning of his kind attention to people on all levels. I can see why his patients loved him. God rest his soul. Our wishes for peace to his wife and family. Don and Nancy Kelley

One of my earliest memories was a trip on the COTA bus, from Bexley, to visit Dr. Whitlatch. There were the house calls when mom was pregnant with my brother Kevin. Whenever I was sick, a visit to see Dr. Joe was the answer for some thirity years. Football physicals at Hartley and many visits to see him after my hunting accident. I will miss his gentle manner and candor. He will be missed by all who knew him. My deepest sympathy to the entire family.

I was Dr. Whitlatch's office nurse for approximately 8 years. Not only was he my employer, but he was my friend and mentor. I will always remember him. He was the finest of physicians and cared so very deeply about his patients. I am so very blessed to have known him and to have been his right hand during our years of work together. Gloria and all the family, may you find comfort during this sad time. Love you all.

Dr. Whitlatch was our family doctor for years. He delivered me on October 16, 1957 to my parents, Joe and Doris VanAtta. I was a sick baby and Dr. Whitlatch would call my mother to find out how I was doing. My mother said she don't know what she would have done if it hadn't been for Dr. Whitlatch coming to her rescue. He delivered my sister, Jerilee(VanAtta)Lausch and my counsin Tina(Turner)Milenovic. I have many fond memories of Dr. Whitlatch because he delivered my children too. It was a family affair!! He was a great, caring doctor. You could always count on him to be their for you medical needs. I had the pleasure of working at St.Anthony Hospital when he was Chief of Staff. I remember when he became Chief of Staff and how thrilled I was knowing that was my doctor being honored.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Dr. Whitlatch was my family physician while growing up. He was the most gentle, loving man I knew. I ran in to him several years back and he removed my son's stitches. My son, though he only had the pleasure of that one visit, thought he was wonderful. Dr. Whitlatch was a very special human being, touching the lives of many people. My sincere condolences go to his family, friends, and patients.

Dr. Whitlatch was our family doctor for many years. He delivered my daughters and aided us through many trying and turbulent times. The life lessons he taught me went well beyond the perimeters of medicine. Had Norman Rockwell had the good fortune of meeting Dr. Joe, he would have used him for more than one magazine cover. My heart goes out to his loving family, and I ask that they remember how blessed they were to have him for so many years.
