Joshua Huffman Obituary

Huffman Joshua David Huffman, 39, of Marysville, OH, peacefully passed into Heaven on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 after a five-year battle with melanoma. Josh was born August 15, 1977 in Cincinnati, OH to David and Carla (Boyer) Huffman. Josh was truly a remarkable and special husband, daddy, brother, son, cousin, uncle, and friend. He was a determined and very talented young man as evidenced by his achievement of Eagle Scout rank in high school, earning his Bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University, his craftsmanship on his home projects, the boat he rebuilt and thrilled in driving fast, and any endeavors that required fixing things. Josh's desire was to be a blessing to others, usually demonstrated by his acts of love and service helping others and modeled after Christ, his Lord and Savior. He loved to laugh and tease, was insightful about life, and you could always count on him to make a plan of action whether it was building a patio, a fence, a finished basement, working with the children in Olympians at Living Hope Church, projects around the church or meals that he and his girls would prepare during the week. During summer 2016, Josh and John Merriman launched the Bunsold Middle School girl's tennis club. Many of the young ladies acquired a new passion for tennis and have continued skill building for the upcoming 2017 tennis season. Josh's vision to achieve a powerful girl's tennis team in the coming years at Marysville High School continues to build indicated by the number of new girls that have signed up to play this year. Josh met the love of his life, Susan (Lee), during the first year of college at The Ohio State University. Josh so enjoyed time with his wife and daughters, Haylee and Mallory, whether vacationing in Florida with Susan's family or in Upper Michigan with all kinds of extended family, exploring new restaurants or family movie nights together, cheering on their football Buckeye's or just relaxing by a campfire (that could be seen from outer space) telling jokes and roasting marshmallows. Josh worked at Honda where he was surrounded by one of his joys in life, cars. He was blessed with an innate ability to understand and repair any mechanical issue from a young age. This extraordinary man was amazingly skilled with tools and shared that gift with others. Josh was preceded in death by his grandparents Richard and Marcella Huffman, and LaMar Boyer. He is survived by his wife, Susan; daughters, Haylee and Mallory; brother, Samuel (Michelle) Huffman of Aurora, OH; parents, David (Carla) Huffman of Marysville, OH; grandmother, Carol Boyer, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces. A remembrance gathering will be held at The Homestead of Radnor, 2866 State Route 203, Radnor, OH on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Living Hope Church, 16701 Square Dr., Marysville, OH on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Josh Huffman Girl's Tennis Scholarship at any 5/3 bank in honor of Josh.
