Kim and Michael
I was so sorry to hear of Joshua's passing. He was an inspiration to me...when I first met him, he was still doing social work and helping others to improve their lives, despite all the many struggles he was dealing with every moment. He was a special person, and I hope the many wonderful memories you all have will comfort you.

Sincerely,
Patty Shipley

Dear Mike, Laura, and Marisa,
I was sad to read about Josh's passing, but so many good memories of Josh made me smile. What a work ethic - and that was in 6th grade! I can remember J. carrying Josh outside whenever the fire alarm sounded, and Mike, what a loving father you were at 6th grade camp. Take care.
Sincerely,
Alice Straub (one of Josh's 6th grade teachers)

P.S. Shakespeare, too!

Dear Michael, Laura and Marisa, I know that your hearts are broken. Michael and I share in your grief. Josh was a fine man. He had strong moral values and was a most intelligent student. What he suffered through is beyond comprehension. We can only know that the pains he suffered are over. You now must bear the pain of his loss. I will always remember your family as one of the best I ever knew in Grandview. Love, Lou and Michael
