Juanita H. "Mary" Kemp

KEMP (Mary) Juanita H. Kemp, age 96, died April 28, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Born December 18, 1913 at Yellow Springs, Ohio, parents Herbert and Adeline Huddleston, deceased. Graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and Ohio State University. Assisted in founding of Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio. Educator for 31 years, primarily kindergarten in Dayton. Sister Miriam H. Nixon, deceased 2005. Husband Harry S. Kemp, deceased 1965. Survived by sons, Howard C. (Florence) and Harold R. (Barbara) Kemp; grandchildren, Justin L. (Kristin), Jeremy R. and Lauren A.; great-grandchildren, Alina and Kylah Kemp. Juanita was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Dayton and transferred to Worthington United Methodist where she moved to Wesley Glen Retirement Center in Columbus fourteen years ago. Juanita was not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was gifted with a ministry of helping others. She was honored by the Red Cross as a lifetime blood donor. She designated her remains to Boonshoft School of Medicine, Wright State University. Memorial service to be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2010, Wesley Glen, 5155 N. High St., Columbus, Ohio 43214. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Worthington United Methodist Church - Transportation Fund, 600 High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085.
