My sincere condolences to the family, as I just learned 6/23/08 of Kathleen's passing. I only knew Kathleen for a very short time. I have good memories of her at COMFEST and other concerts enjoying music with friends and family. I admired her courage.

To the West and VanHorn Family, I am sorry to hear that she is gone, But I do know the long fight she was fighting. I know now that she is better. My best goes out to her daughters, I have known them for a long time. May she rest in piece. My prayers will be with all of you.
With all my best,

We think fondly of Kathleen for her love of life and the energy and enthusiasm she shared during our "teen" years as neighbors and friends. Hugs of condolence to her family and all who have had the gift of knowing her.

Kathleen West was an amazing woman whose strength and calm in light of adversity was truly inspiring. She will be missed. I offer my condolences to those whose lives she touched and my respect to the family whose love, support, and caregiving strengthened Kathleen during her journey.

I got married and left Ohio more than 40 years ago, but I still have fond memories of cousin Kathleen in our earliest years -- her love of life, that infectious smile, and that devilish look in her eye whenever she decided she wanted to push against the rules our parents had set. She seemed to know instinctively how to live life to the fullest, and she was absolutely fearless. Stick-in-the-mud that I was, I envied those wild and crazy traits in her. She was quite a kid -- and grew into an amazing woman.

I had the pleasure of knowing Kathleen as her mailman on Pasadena. The way she took on each day left a deep impression on me. I commented to her one day on her outlook of life. She told me that each day is a gift and we should treat it as such. I think of her as I pass the house and I am thankful that our paths crossed. What a joy she brought to me in those short conversations. My heartfelt condolences goes to the family.

Mom i'm always the first to do something and now i'm the first to sign your guest book. I want to say you have been a great mom for the last 28 years of my life. I also want everyone to know you fought 15 hard years with cancer. I know you are in a better place. I will miss you and I love you. Your daughter Stacy

There is a space in our hearts that feels empty right now, but it will always have the presence and fond memories of Kathleen and our friendship with her. She was one of the strongest people I have ever known and we will miss her.
With love and deepest sympathy,
Terri, Chuck and Pete Daniels
