Lee Spangler Obituary

Spangler Lee Aaron Spangler, born February 15, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio to Paul Emerson and Betty J. (Rayburn) Spangler, passed away January 5, 2017 after a short, but hard battle with lung and liver cancer. Lee was a 1960 graduate of West High School and served in the US Navy from 1960 to 1964. His previous employers included Bearings Inc. in Columbus and Walmart in Canal Winchester. Lee is preceded in death by his father Paul Emerson, step-father George Kleinschrodt, wife Joy (Krause) Spangler, and father-in-law Phillip E. Wagner. He is survived by his wife, Susan (Wagner) Spangler; daughter, Amy L. Spangler; mother, Betty J. Kleinschrodt; sister, Sandra Hoffer; mother-in-law, Emma E. Wagner; stepsons, Matthew (Anita) Schrader, Mark (Jackie) Schrader, and Michael Schrader; grandchildren, Jack, Cole, Emma, and Max; and many beloved cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Pickering House, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130. Time with family at 10 a.m. with celebration of life service at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Believers Bible Church, 156 E. South St., Lithopolis, Ohio, 43136. Special heartfelt thank yous to the nurses and staff at Fairhope Hospice and The Pickering House. Arrangements entrusted to DAY FUNERAL SERVICE. We had a good time in our childhood in Columbus and Buckeye Lake, I will never forget swimming with the leeches and finding night crawlers after the rain.Rest in peace and God Bless your family. Your cousin Rick
