Leland Troutman Obituary

TROUTMAN Leland Richard "Dick" Troutman, 69, of Westerville, OH, passed away quietly in his home with his beloved wife Barbara by his side on Wednesday, July 14, 2010. Dick went to be with his heavenly Father surrounded by the ones he loved the most - his wife, his family and his precious dog Simone. Dick was born May 12, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio. He was raised in the Linden area and one of his greatest joys was getting together with his Linden High School friends and reminiscing about the wonderful memories they shared playing baseball and basketball. Dick was a wine connoisseur who had a passion for fine wine. He worked for many years in the wine industry, for Excello, Perfecto and Heidelberg Distributors and then held the position of the wine and beverage buyer for the Big Bear grocery chain. Dick was a wonderful husband and father, and instilled in us all the importance of family. Dick is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara (Rader); three sons and daughters-in-law, Bill (Michele), Todd (Debbie) and Alan (Kathy) Troutman; eight grandchildren, Jenny, Molly (Travis), Todd, Beau, Samantha, Belle, Michael and Bonne; and two great-grandchildren, Emma and Landon Roush; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 17 at 3 p.m. at the Church of Christ at Alexandria, with Kevin Hull presiding. Following the ceremony, all are invited to attend a gathering in his honor at 205 S. Pearl Street in Granville, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ohio Health Hospice or to Ohio University Department of Osteopathic Medicine where his remains are being donated for research at his request. Church address is 5380 Moots Run Road, Alexandria, OH 43001.
