1922 - 2017
Marco Damiano, 95, of Columbus, OH, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2017 surrounded by family. Marco was born on April 2, 1922 in Sharpsburgh, PA to Victor and Pauline Damiano, and one of nine children. An Army Veteran of World War II in the Company A 105th Engineer Battalion, he fought at Normandy and in the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Purple Heart, and the French Legion of Honor. Marco married the love of his life, Anna, on January 22, 1949 in New York City, NY. Marco's love and devotion to Anna was evident throughout their marriage and in his affection as he cared for her until her death in 2015. Marco and Anna were dedicated spouses and parents, caring for each other and their family with all their heart. They raised their five children in Columbus, OH. They were faithful to our Lord and were parishioners at St. Luke Church near their home in West Palm Beach, FL. Marco is survived by his children, Catherine Korting, Judy (Phil) Sayers, Marc Damiano, Linda Pennington, and Lora Puluso; his thirteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Damiano, his eight siblings and grandson William Korting III. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 20 from 5-8 PM at the MYERS-WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME, 587 Main Street in Groveport with a prayer service beginning at 5 PM. A funeral service and interment will follow in South Florida National Cemetery in Lakeworth, FL. Please share with the family at www.orwoodyard.com
