Matthew Davis Obituary

DAVIS Matthew Earl Davis, 33, of London, died Friday, January 9, 2009 in Columbus. Born August 22, 1975, in Circleville, Ohio, he was a son of Stephen E. and Rebecca (Hicks) Davis. He was employed as a Quotation Supervisor for the Becker Electric Co. in Columbus. A member of the Newport United Methodist Church, he was also a member of the Ohio Duroc Breeders Association and the American Pastured Poultry Producers Assn. He had also served as a T-Ball coach in Sedalia. Survivors are his wife, Beth A. (Covey) Davis; a daughter, Kelsey Nicole Davis, age 12; two sons, Colin Matthew Davis, age 4, and Owen Anthony Davis, age 2; his parents, Stephen E. and Rebecca Davis; paternal grandparents, Glen E. and Violet Davis of Washington Court House; maternal grandmother, Mildred Hicks of London; a brother, Daniel E. (Alicia) Davis of Chicago, Illinois; a niece, Evelyn Davis; nephew, Kale Davis; mother- and father-in-law, Barbara and Mark Covey of Dayton; a brother-in-law, Brian (Jen) Covey of Columbus; a niece, Amelia Covey of Columbus; and a host of special friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Edward Hicks. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 in the Newport United Methodist Church with Pastor Ken Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Paint Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 2-8 p.m., Tuesday. If they wish, friends may make memorial contributions to the Matthew Davis Memorial Fund c/o the Huntington National Bank, for the benefit of his children's education.
