Melissa Dunphy Obituary

DUNPHY Melissa B. Dunphy, passed into heaven on August 23, 2011. She was the daughter of Cherie and David Hollis born in Columbus, Ohio on December 28, 1960. She was a much loved daughter, wife, and mother, and will be missed by all. She married Justin Dunphy of Dublin, Ireland on August 11, 1989 and to this union was born a son Dylan Patrick David. She was a graduate with a BFA from CCAD. Melissa enjoyed music, her cats, art, cooking, comedy, gardening and having fun. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Mary and Clarence Hollis, her maternal grandparents Mary L. Abicht-Litterest, Bernard B. Abicht and her father David L. Hollis. She is survived by numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins both here and in Ireland. "She was my best friend, we had just turned 22 years married. I loved her with all my heart. She gave me the greatest thing in our life, our Son." In lieu of flowers, please send donations to any organization that promotes the saving of stray cats and the efforts to find them new homes. A good organization locally would be Cat Welfare Association (www.catwelfareohio.com). Melissa saved many a cat from a sad death. She would hope that those efforts continue to be supported. There will be a gathering of relatives and friends at the family home at a later date. Details will be forthcoming.

To Justin and Dylan, and Melissa's family and friends...

It will be the little things that you will remember, the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter. And although it may seem hard right now, it will be the memories of these little things that help push away the pain and bring the smiles back again.

Praying for friends to comfort you, faith to uphold you, and loving memories to help you smile again.

With Sincerest Sympathy,

Rob Dempsey
