My deepest condolences to my Aunt Shirley and cousins. Heaven welcomed with open arms Uncle Melvin to Heaven where Jesus prepared for him. Although his eathly life was finished here on earth, he left a legacy that will go unchallenged! Uncle Melvin was a gentle giant, the definition of a Patriarch, a leader, a prayer warrior, a great communicator. He was a true example of what it means to be an Ambassador for Christ. He that winneth souls is wise and that he was. When he entered a room you could feel the joy of the Lord radiating from his innermost being. When in conversation, you had his fulll attention, he was truly a kind and living man. He treated my Aunt like a Queen, a title she well deserved! I witness first hand him visiting the shut in and unable to attend church. He endured to the end and I know he heard the words that he longed to hear. "Well Done Thy Good And Faithful Servant" enter into thy rest! His shoes can never be filled, because he was a true example of what it is to be a godly man! RIH

Mr Ship was a good man. He was always pleasant and had a beautiful smile. I have many fond memories of him and the house on Fairwood. I also know that he was very proud of his firstborn grandson. My condolences to the entire Ship family

To Sonya, Leslie, Timmy, DeeDee and Tony: Your Dad was a father to many! He and your Mom, truly inspired me as a teenager, and as a young adult. Truly, a man of strength, honor and of impeccable character; his heartfelt laugh, boisterous voice and calm, gentle nature will be missed. I love y’all. Pam Butler-Stewart
