It makes me sad to think I out lived Michael. As a teenager I got to know him as a caretaker, aka babysitter, and he was a terrific kid. I remember him being easy going, respectful of his parents and their friends and fun to be with.
Sounds like he grew into the kind of young man his mother and father would have been extremely proud of.

I attended the Academy with Mike, and worked with him briefly at the Dispatch. He was simply a great guy and my life was better for having known him. My very sincere condolences to the family.

I, too, attended the Academy with Mike. He was a terrific person with wonderful values, a hard worker, and will be very much missed. He brought much to many.
