Nelson J. Fox

Fox Nelson J. Fox went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Serenity House in Grove City, Ohio. Nelson battled Alzheimers disease and dementia for 9 years. Member First United Brethren in Christ Church; retired after 37 years of driving a tanker from Sohio/Refiners (BMI); Veteran U.S. Army where he served from 1948-1954. Preceded in death by father Allen L. Fox, mother Myra, stepfather George Whiteneck, beloved wife of 52 years, Carole S. Lilly Fox, brothers Gary and Arnold Fox. Survived by children, Thomas A Sr., Theresa M., Edie (Kim) Hardy; adopted daughter, Barbara A. Slaytor (Scotland); 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great great grandson; sisters; Leatrice Nadeau, Novella Bourgoine of California, Carol Michaud and Judith Fox of Maine; brother-in-law. Edward T. Lilly Jr. and Mary R. Christy of Ohio; many nieces, nephews, cousins and 1st U.B Church Family. Friends may call at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W. Broad St., Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and then after 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Brethren in Christ Church, 496 South Wheatland Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43204.
