My deepest sympathy's to Bears family. I never even knew he had kids and grand kids. If they grew up to be like him they are exceptional people as that was who Bear was. I've thought of him often in the last 20 years. He was truly one of my best friends. I will miss him. RIP old friend.

Destinee and Logan--I am so sorry for your loss. Your dad and I didn't always agree but one thing that I always knew about him was how much he loved his children. I love you both very much and I am here for you if you need me.

I will always remember Bear and seeing him walking down the street in our old Brookside neighborhood in the Burg. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. This carried through to adulthood. Bear you will be greatly missed, but your smile and friendship remains with all of us that loved you.

I've known you since the age of 5 when I moved one house down from your family. I learned through the following years that blood doesn't equate to "family".

I learned that step-brothers and step-sisters can be closer than actual blood relatives. It's all about the time invested with one another and shared experiences. I may have been an only child, but learned I could have brothers and sisters. I proudly and lovingly claimed you as my brother. From the day we met in 1968 to the present....just look at all the time invested with one another and all of our shared experiences! Of all my "brothers and sisters", you were the one with whom I remained the closest into adulthood.

When I completed my service in the Army and got a job driving a truck cross-country...I choose you as my helper and we travelled America together. Each step along the, we sought out friends and family to spend time with...My "brother" from the service Charlie Richards in northern California, your sister Sally and her family in Tucson, my "brother" from the service Tony Wall and your brother Dale, both in Albuquerque. We had so many good times and harrowing adventures..our time on the road together became legendary and the tales continue to be told to this day!

I was there when you met your future wife, I was the Best Man (and the only person) at your wedding, and i took you two on your "honeymoon". I was there in your life for the birth of your two beautiful children, Destinee and Logan.

I can't believe you've moved on... I'm gonna miss you so much, my brother....but you will live on in my memories and in the stories of bold adventure that I will continue to share!

I love you, Bear
