Pauline Langdon Obituary

Langdon, Pauline
1947 - 2018
Pauline L. Langdon, age 71, born March 17, 1947, went home to be with the Lord on December 13, 2018 and will be missed by her family and friends. A 1965 graduate of North High School, Pauline married Warren E. Langdon in 1970. In 1978, they moved to Worthington, OH, where they raised four successful children who will miss her every day, Dr. Shawn(Luzviminda) Lockett, Jason O. Langdon, Jamie (Todd) Babione and Jeremy (April) Langdon. Pauline was an avid reader and music lover. She had a keen interest in law, especially criminal and social justice for those without a voice. Pauline studied criminology at The Ohio State University and observed Martin Luther King, Jr. Day before it was a holiday, keeping her children home on his birthday. She raised them to be loving, caring, drum majors for truth and justice. As such, her fire for servant leadership has been passed through her children to her grandchildren. Because of her example and guidance, the world is a better place. Predeceased by her parents, Henrietta Jamar Lockett and George Washington Lockett, brothers Roland, George and Aaron Lee Lockett, grandson Donovan E. Lockett, mother- and father-in-law Elmore and Martha Langdon, and brothers-in-law, David Langdon and Jerry Wade. In addition to her husband and children, Pauline is survived by her siblings, Eunice (Wendell) Bowman, Jim W. Lockett, Margaret Lockett, Marjorie Wade, Carolyn Pryor and Greg Lockett; grandchildren, Kaitlyn McLeod, Veronica and Alexander Lockett, Marc Gaditano, Todd Babione, Jr., Noah D. Langdon, Warren, Jasmyn Langdon and Joseph Hodges; great grandchildren, Cassius and Curtiss McLeod; sister-in-law Ann (Dr. Alan) Loxterman; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation 5 – 6 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Praise Temple Community Church, 2618 Bethesda Ave., with a memorial service immediately following. Mrs Pauline will be greatly missed. She welcomed me into her heart and life with open arms. She held me when at times I couldn't even hold myself. She mentored me when I became a wife and always supported me even when I made mistakes. I am today the woman she predicted solely because of her prayers for me before I learned how to pray for myself. She is now able to walk with all those that she loves and protect us daily. Rest well and I will see you again one day. Tena Hall and Alex Steadman, The Hall Family, Columbia, MD.

Pauline was a lovely person, thoughtful and kind to us when we moved across the street from the Langdon family in Worthington in 1982. To this day we have memories of her welcoming us and, especially, of her kindness to our son Peter. He enjoyed so much talking with her and spending time with her family. She and Warren raised fine children. Our sympathy is with them in their missing Pauline.
