Philip Ferguson Obituary
The Reverend Doctor Philip L. Ferguson, died peacefully on May 1, 2018 after a brief stay in hospice near his home in Grayslake, IL. Phil and his wife Norma were residents of Worthington and Powell for 37 years until they moved to Illinois in 2015 to be closer to their daughter. Phil received a B.A. from The College of Wooster, an M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Doctorate of Systematic Theology from San Francisco Theological Seminary. He served pastorates at First Presbyterian Church in Alliance, Ohio and Westminster Presbyterian Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Phil then served as the organizing pastor for St. Thomas Presbyterian Church in Shelby Township, Michigan and Highlands Presbyterian Church in Worthington. Phil is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma; sons, Mark (Sandra) and Stephen (Suzanne); daughter, Karen (Tim); nephews, Erik Goldstrom and Andrew Goldstrom; and 9 grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Delaware, Ohio on Saturday, May 12 at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 73 West Winter St., Delaware, Ohio. My sincerest condolences to you. I am thinking of you often - although I knew him briefly - I really enjoyed the time spent with Phil and yourself in Libertyville. I am blessed and richer to have known you both.

Norma and family,
Phil meant the world to us and we were very sad to hear of his passing. So many of life's hurdles for our family were softened by his thoughtful and loving counsel. I will be traveling back from Denver but hope to see you and if you can think of anything Rob or I can do to help please let us know. Our home now has 3 empty bedrooms available to anyone... we're here for you! Phil will be greatly missed. Love, Bobbi & Rob
