To Phil and Laurie's family,

John and I want you to know that we were deeply saddened to know that your father passed 8/24/17, the day we left for vacation. We didn't receive Kris's message until 2 weeks after we returned from vacation though she had left in when he died. Your parents were two of the finest people we have ever known. All they did for their family of 9 children was remarkable and to think they hosted 2 brothers 1 at a time from Spain for a year each time. They worked very hard, yet they took time to have a good time. We were in their company through St. Joseph's Cathedral and socials and at the wonderful church picnics and hayrides they hosted, and many other times besides. We loved the celebrations you gave them for their 80th birthday parties and anniversary. Our hearts are sad, but they are together now with God and Jeanie and their granddaughter and all who went before them. Please know that we will keep you all in our prayers. What a fine example they set for all of you and their friends. My heart pains as I write this.

Love to all of you,
Eleanor and John Meekins
