Ralph H. Heller

Heller Ralph H. Heller, age 94, January 7, 2015. Ralph spent most of his youth in Cambridge, Ohio and was a fifteen-year resident of Wesley Glen Retirement Community. Ralph served in the US Navy during WWII, enlisting in August, 1941 receiving an honorable discharge in October, 1945. Ralph survived the sinking of the USS Rutledge by a torpedo off Casablanca in November, 1942. Ralph attended The Ohio State University on the GI bill, and graduated from the Business College in Marketing 1949, and later from Capital Law School. Ralph retired in 1985 from the Office of General Council at Nationwide in Columbus. Ralph was an avid runner, and completed the Columbus Marathon in 1988. He was a lifelong Mason. Ralph was a proud Veteran, and participated in the Honor Flight in April, 2013. Preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Edyth Heller, both Veterans of WWI, daughter Susan Edith and son-in-law Gary Wayne Maddy. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 66 years, Chloe Heller; two daughters, Jennifer Heller and Ann Perdue; brother, Marion Heller; sister, Martha (Robert) Archer; close family friend, Elaine Torrie; grandchildren, Gary (Dorinda) Maddy and Scott (Charlene) Maddy; great-grandchildren Chloe-Marie Michelle, Rebekah Lily-Jean, Gary Wayne III, Edith Rose, Jenniferann Stephanie and Kalvin Elijah; along with several nieces, nephews and beloved granddogs and grandcats.
