Raymond Becker Obituary

Becker Raymond E. Becker, 70, of New Braunfels, Texas and formerly of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels, Texas. A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at McGINNIS-CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME in Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial was in Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, Illinois. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to their favorite charity. He was born in Charles City, Iowa and served in the U.S. Air Force (1961-1965). Raymond graduated from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa with a degree in Bachelor of Arts. Raymond had a great passion for all sports. Raymond was a Captain on the Riverdale, Iowa Fire Department and ran for Mayor of Riverdale, Iowa. Raymond worked for IH East Moline, Illinois for 16 years. Ray is survived by his wife, Vicki of 52 years; his daughters, Wendy Turner, her husband, John Turner, and grandchildren, Drew, Jake and Avery of Yukon, Oklahoma, Stephanie Frederickson, her husband, Mark Frederickson II (Ret. Tech Sgt. Air Force Reserves) and granddaughter, Mackenzie of Worthington, Ohio; his sisters, Shirley Foland of Omaha, Nebraska, Betty Newton of Davenport and Sharon Wingert, her husband Gordon of New Castle, Indiana; and his brother, Kenneth Becker, his wife, Dottie of Davenport. Raymond was blessed with multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A special and loving Thank You to all the Doctors and Nurses at the VA Hospital in San Antonio, Texas and Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels, Texas.
