Richard Brown Obituary

BROWN Richard Joseph Brown, 82, of Powell, passed away on January 15, 2008, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born December 1, 1925, to the late Charles and Flora Richter Brown in Columbus, OH. Dick retired from the U.S. Government and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Dick was an avid golfer, traveler, and loved his OSU Buckeyes. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn Rowe Brown; daughter, Carolyn (Wade) Rusk of Worthington; son, Mark (Barbara) Brown of Palmdale, CA; grandchildren, Traci, Lauren, Lindsey, Ryan, Chris Rusk and Jaime Brown; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother Robert (Alberta) and sister Dorothy Holtschulte (James). He will be missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and pets Katie and Holly. Family will receive friends Friday from 4-7 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St. (1/2 mile south of I-270). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 10700 Liberty Rd. Powell, OH. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43214. Online condolences may be made to www.schoedinger.com. Marilyn, Brownie, Wade and family, I will always remember your Dad as being so funny. He had a great sense of humor and always let us get away with our pranks. I remember that big smile of his. He was a military guy all the way. He will be missed greatly. Love, Jan, Jeff and Molly Bryant
