Richard Eugene Price

Price Richard Eugene Price, 67, of Powell, Ohio passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013. Rick was born February 15, 1946 to Richard and Bernadine (Reiter) Price in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and was the oldest of three children. In 1964, he graduated from St. Louis University High School where he was an outstanding football player. Rick attended University of Missouri where he met the love of his life, Janis Lynn Fahrenkrog. He graduated in 1969 with a degree in Political Science and Economics and was married that same year. Rick proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War as a tank captain. He was stationed in Bamberg, Germany. He was honorably discharged from active duty in 1972 and the Reserves in 1975. In 1973, Rick began a long career in the automotive industry, eventually transferring to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1988 where he served as Vice President of Manufacturing of Textron Automotive until his retirement in 2000. Rick loved to spend time with his family, friends and dogs. He actively followed politics and enjoyed working in his yard. Rick is survived by his wife, Janis; sons, Rick (Rebecca) Price, Mike (Tina) Price and Brad (Courtney) Price; grandchildren, Audrey, Aaron and Hallie Price; brother, Greg Price; sister, Susan Price; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his parents. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 West Olentangy St.(Powell Rd./St. Rt. 750/1/4 mile east of Sawmill Pkwy.) Powell, OH 43065. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 at Bunker Hill Cemetery in Bunker Hill, Illinois.
