Richard Sampson Obituary
Richard Lane Sampson, age 85, of Reynoldsburg, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018. Lane was born January 24, 1933 to the late James and Dessa (McWhortor) Sampson in Wheeling, WV. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky and Straubing, Germany. Lane was a lifelong member of the IBEW 683 and also worked as a part time custodian for Reynoldsburg City Schools. He was in the Commercial Sign Industry for more than 50 years. Lane was a devoted husband and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family. He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey, William, and Thomas (Stacey) Sampson; grandchildren, Lauren and Alexander. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Sampson; brothers, Albert and James; sisters, Virginia, Violet and Almajean. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 6-8 PM, at the PFEIFER FUNERAL HOME, Reynoldsburg, where his funeral service will follow on Wednesday 10 AM, with Pastor Karl Hanf officiating. Burial in Glen Rest Memorial Estates. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lane's memory to Adaptive Sports Connection, www.taasc.org. Online condolences at www.pfeiferfuneral.com
