Roger F. Rector

RECTOR Roger F. Rector, age 91, of Columbus, died Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Riverside Methodist Hospital after an extended illness. He was born December 31, 1914 in Columbus, Ohio the son of Thomas and Irma (Watkins) Rector. He graduated from East High School, Class of 1932, and worked as an Engineer for the Pennsylvania Railroad for many years. He also worked in carpet sales and neon light sales for many years. He was a former member of Riverside United Methodist Church and a 68 year member of Humboldt Lodge #476 F.&A.M. He also belonged to the Scottish Rite and Aladdin Shrine Temple. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Vergene Worrell and Ruth Johnson. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Betty J. Rector; sons, Thomas C. (Lois) Rector of Ft. Myers, FL, James (Paulette) Rector of Delaware, OH and Larry E. Rector of Columbus; grandchildren, Michael, Timothy, Daniel, and Jon Rector, and Richel (Chris) Maier, Cory (Sarah) Loftin, and Asa Loftin; great-grandchildren, Kasey Ann, Brittney, Allie, and Ryan Rector, and Christian and Grace Maier; brothers, C. D. (Delores) Rector and Theodore (June) Rector; sister, Marjorie Kollmer; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2006 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where a Masonic service will begin at 3 p.m., after which the funeral service will immediately follow. A private interment will be held for the family at a later date.
