Roma Pritchard Obituary

PRITCHARD Roma L. Midkiff Pritchard, 76, of West Hamlin, WV, formerly of Columbus, OH went to meet Jesus on May 24, 2012 after a sudden illness at home. She was born on September 7, 1935, the daughter of the late Elmer "Jum" Midkiff and Elizabeth Bills Midkiff. She was preceded in death by two sisters Violet Bias, Sara Salmons, one brother Hampton Midkiff, one grandson David Pritchard, one daughter-in-law Roseanna Pritchard. She was a member of the West Hamlin United Methodist Church, Hamlin Chapter 106 Order of Eastern Star, Mama Bears Homemakers Club and a retired supervisor of The Ohio Bell Telephone Company. She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Lowell Thomas (Tom) Pritchard of West Hamlin; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Kathy Pritchard of Branchland, Rod and Dru Pritchard of Columbus, OH and Ed and Genie Pritchard of Batavia, OH; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Jim Straight of Grove City, OH and Kelly and Jim Simms of Hillard, OH; one sister, Beatrice Sholes of Surf City, NC; four brothers, Harvey M. Midkiff of Madison, Ala., Richard L. Midkiff of West Hamlin, David Midkiff of Wisconsin and Jerry A. Midkiff of Salt Rock, WV; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 28, 2012 at West Hamlin United Methodist Church with Rev. Thomas Jeffrey officiating. The burial will follow in the Gill Cemetery, Salt Rock, WV. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, at MCGHEE-HANDLEY FUNERAL HOME, West Hamlin, WV and one hour prior to the funeral Monday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the West Hamlin United Methodist Church.

My deepest sympathy to the Pritchard family. I worked with Roma and her son Mike at OBT many years ago. Loved them both. They were both so family oriented. So sorry for your loss. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Roma was a good friend and neighbor. We had a lot of fun when our kids were growing up in New Rome, Ohio. I will always cherish the friendship I had with her.
