Ronald Allen Obituary

Allen Ronald W. Allen, 82, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017. Ron was born in Columbus, Ohio to Lester and Norma (High) Allen on May 20, 1934, and is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert and Richard and infant brother Donald. Survivors include his loving wife, Rayma Ellis Allen; daughters, Rhonda (Mark) Nicholas, Cindy (Sterling) Youngquist, Debbie (Joe) Yokum-Weaver; son, David (Tina) Allen; Rayma's children, John Ellis, Julie Stynchula, Holly Clark; grandchildren, Trevor (Vickie) Hartman, Jason and Jeremy Youngquist, Shayne (Ericka) Yokum, Brandon (Lindsey) Yokum, Eric Allen and Rayma's six grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Nathan and Andrew Hartman, Shayne II, Landon, Zayne and Rylee Yokum, Remington, Jersey and Collins Youngquist, and Rayma's three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Alice Allen; nieces, nephews and many friends. Ron served with the Columbus Fire Department from 1958-1988 where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant in 1971, Captain 1974 and Battalion Chief 1978. He was appointed Safety Director for the City of Gahanna by Mayor James McGregor from 1984-1986. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Christian Life Fellowship, 830 Morrison Road, Gahanna, OH 43230. Pastor Tom Clark officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to https://foundation.ohiohealth.com/programs/hospice-giving.
