Ruth Fox Obituary

Ruth F. Fox, age 81, of Columbus, Ohio was reunited with her husband of 53 years, Eugene Fox on Thursday, February 26, 2015. Ruth was born January 16, 1934 in Canton, Ohio to the late Howard Daniel and Florence (Allen) Davis. She married her beloved husband, Eugene on March 21, 1953 in Canton, Ohio. Ruth was top of her trade as the owner and head groomer at Ruth's Poodle Parlor for many decades with customers even coming from out of state. She also filled the role of breeder and enjoyed showing poodles for many years. Ruth supported volunteer efforts for multiple food pantries and the Salvation Army in Columbus along with her husband for many years. She enjoyed fishing, painting, crocheting, knitting, her pets but most of all being a mom, grandmother and great-grandmother and she could not have been a better one. She is survived by sister-in-law, Sally Davis; children, Edward Fox, Kathy Hilton, Chris Fox and Faith Walker; grandchildren, Stephanie, Stephen, Michael, Ashlee, Melissa, Cory, Andy, Erin, Jeremy, Jake; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Blane, Colton, Corbin, Gavin and Taejon. Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son Kenneth Fox, siblings Dan and Ardis, 11 half brothers and sisters. At the request of Ruth, there will be no public services but please take a moment to remember her and laugh, this is what she would have wanted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army in Canton or Columbus or donate to the Kobacker House by calling 614-544-4483. A special thanks to the doctor and nurses at the Kobacker House who provided very special and much needed support during this extremely difficult time to Ruth and her children. Arrangements entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio. "It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them, and every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become, as generous and loving as they are."
