Sam Allen Obituary

Allen Sam "June" Allen Jr. was born June 6, 1941 in Joiner, Arkansas to Sam Allen Sr. and Sallie Kennedy. Sam served in the United States Army as a cook and received an Honorable Discharge in 1967. He worked for Timken Co. for 14 years and as a public servant for the Columbus Police Department for 13 years. Sam also served at the Franklin County Children's Services, and worked at the PX in Ft. Campbell, Ky. Sam leaves behind loved ones who remain children, Sam (Liz) Allen III of Mesa, AZ, Kim (Walter Green) Allen and Samantha Baker-Johnson of Columbus, Ohio; brothers, Harold (Vernell) Kennedy of Augusta, GA, Lawrence (Sherry) Kennedy of Blytheville, AR; sisters, Anna (Duncan) Brock of Clarksville, TN, Ernestine Kennedy of Clarksville, TN, Johnnie (Jerry) Jenkins of Gainesville, GA., Sandra Kennedy of Evansville, IN; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and a host of family and friends. Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2016 in the chapel at DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E.
