Mr. Shaffer was one of the best teachers at Gahanna Christians Academy. I first met him when my son Andrew attended then Evagel Christian Academy. I believe my other two children, Matt and Kerry also had Mr. Shaffer. I always felt encouraged and blessed by Steve Shaffer. Now he is in the presence of the Lord Jesus. We will sorely miss you, Mr. Shaffer.

Steve was my co-worker and good friend. I've known him for over 30 years and we enjoyed watching many Buckeye basketball and football games together. Steve ran the scoreboard at Gahanna Christian for many years. While I was coaching, I would often peak over at Steve during a time out. He always had a smile on his face or a positive word for me. I will never forget him. God bless, Big Dog!!!! ~Coach Scott Jemson

Joann and I want to send our condolences to all the Shaffer family in this very sad and painful time. Steve was a guy who was just fun to be around regardless of what was going on and he was a great friend. Whether in class, on the basketball court or doing other things, he always seemed to find some way to make you laugh. Steve's passing is a tragic loss for his family, friends and anyone who knew him. He will be missed but not forgotten.
