Tamara Maxey Obituary

Maxey Tamara Ann Maxey "Tammy", 57, passed away at her home in Richmond, Va., surrounded by family on June 8, 2016. Formerly of New Albany, Oh and Scottsdale, Az. Born on January 4, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio to Barbara and William T. Maxey. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Mike Weymouth; and daughter, Milan Maxey; siblings, Julie (John) Zipperer, Christy Maxey, Ty Maxey, Todd (Jennifer) Maxey and Craig (Renate) Maxey; nieces, Olivia and Ella Maxey; step-children, Mark (Casey) Weymouth and Laura (Avery) Weymouth; and dear friends, Lynn Barnett and Susan Guy. Tammy graduated from Walnut Ridge High School, Columbus, Ohio, in 1977 and enjoyed many years employed in the optical industry, most recently with Hoya Vision where she was awarded numerous awards and accolades, including the Ring of Honor Award in 2013. Tammy had a caring and gentle spirit, which was evident throughout her life. Not only was she a beloved and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, she volunteered as a Hospital Candy Striper when she was a teenager and continued to volunteer at the Children's Hospital later in life. A memorial service in Ohio is being planned for a later date. Online guest book is available at www.affinityfuneralservice.com.
