Thelma Louise Daniels

DANIELS Thelma Louise Daniels was born to Walter Ruben (Jargo) Daniels and Daisy Mae Daniels in Montgomery, W.Va. on February 20, 1933. She was 75 years old when she departed this world. She was married to John W. Davenport, Sr. She was very proud of her family that she loved so dearly. She attended school at Harewood Junior High, Harewood, W.Va. She was a member of Higher Ground Always Abounding Asembly Church. She was one of the pioneer members that help Bishop Sherman Watkins in building his Church when it was Greater Emanuel. She previously worked at Ohio State University Hospital, St. Anthony Hospital, Security Guard at State Liquor Control, worked at several Nursing Homes as a Nurses Aide. She was a Nurses Aide at Higher Grounds before becoming ill. She served on the Usher Board, and The Mothers Board before becoming a Mother of the Church. She was preceded in death by her father Mr. Walter Daniels Sr., mother Mrs. Daisy Daniels, brothers James Daniels, William Daniels, Thomas Daniels, sons Michael Davis Sr., Miles Davis, Jr. and William Keith Davis. She leaves to mourn, husband, John W. Davenport, Sr.; daughters, Geraldine (Arthur) Daniels, Daisy Davenport; sons, John W. (Rhonda) Davenport, Jr., Carl D. Davenport, Jr., Jerome Bohanna; sisters, Betty (Benjamin) Brown, Nora Butler, Bertha Daniels, Edith Daniels; brothers, Walter Daniels, Jr., Robert (Janet) Daniels, Sr. and Paul Daniels; brother-in-law, Freddie A. (Minnie) Davenport, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Helen Daniels, Alice Combs, Florence Davenport and Flomade Daniels; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Service will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 7 p.m. at Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, 870 St. Clair Ave., where the family will receive friends 6 p.m. Officiating, Bishop S. Watkins. Interment Thursday morning, Glen Rest Memorial Estates, 10 a.m. The family will meet at the church Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to SMITH MORTUARY, 614-447-9300.
