Tracey Warren-Spears Obituary

WARREN-SPEARS Tracey Lynn Warren-Spears died suddenly in her home on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at the age of 44. She leaves behind to love and remember, her husband of 15 years, Scott; her mother, Anne; her father, Tony, all of Columbus; her sister, Leslee, of New York City; a brother-in-law, Randy, and his wife, Kim; nieces, Emma and Katie; uncles and aunts, Steve (Barbara) Warren, Delbert (Marion) Spurlock, Philip (Lori) Spurlock; special "Auntie" Barbara Black; numerous cousins and friends, her extended family of Kim Newman, Paula Burleson, and Sharon Bender; L.A. friends Sue Resatka and Nancy Proffitt; and beloved kitties, Travis and Newbie. Tracey graduated from the Columbus School for Girls, and The Ohio State University, and attended the Columbus College of Art and Design. She and Scott moved to Los Angeles where Tracey worked for Twentieth Century Fox, and later for Chris Carter, producer of The X-Files. In the last year before returning to Columbus, Tracey had big fun working as an extra on television shows like E.R, Medium, Shark, Brothers & Sisters, Desperate Housewives, Saving Grace, The Closer, Jericho, Ugly Betty, Close to Home, Las Vegas, and CSI. Tracey was a compassionate young woman who cared deeply for her fellow man and the world we all live in. We are asking that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Tracey's name to charities she supported: the Capital Area Humane Society, a Columbus based animal adoption center (http://www.cahs-pets.org/get_involved/memorial_giving.htm); or Heifer, International, an organization that purchases farm animals for poor families in villages all over the world (www.heifer.org). By supporting these organizations, Tracey made an effort to affect the world. Service of memory 1 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the St. Philip Episcopal Church, 166 Woodland Ave., Fr. Jerome Burns, officiating, where the family will receive friends 12:30 p.m. until the start of services. Arrangement entrusted to DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Kraig Thornhill

January 11, 2008

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to Tracey's husband Scott, and
all family and friends. My name is Kraig Thornhill, and I live down the
street on Sherborne Drive and serve as President of the Eastgate Garden and
Civic Association.
Though Tracey's time in Eastgate was short, it was apparent that she loved
her new home and felt a sense of pride. Based on the beautifully written
obituary, it is clearly evident that Eastgate would have been very blessed
to have her be a part of the neighborhood family. Our condolences and arms
of friendship go out to Scott, all family and friends during this difficult
time. May the days and months ahead bring all of you peace, comfort, and
God's blessed assurance.

Respectfully,

Kraig A. Thornhill, President
Eastgate Garden and Civic Association

I was so sorry to learn this sad news. I knew Tracey when we were children, and I haven't seen her in a very long time. But I've always remembered her as someone full of positive energy, almost always smiling. From what I hear, this didn't change.

We have all lost a wonderful spirit, and far, far, too soon.

Please accept my deepest sympathy and my prayers that you will find solace and peace.
