Vera Ann (née Kelley) Houpe was born the second eldest to Wessoloski and Eddie Lou Kelley on February 22, 1933, in Columbus, Ohio. She was a graduate of Central High School. Vera was a devoted wife to Robert Lee Houpe. She was a dedicated mother of three, Ivan T. Houpe, Robyn (Billy) Medley, and Marco (Tiffany) Houpe. Vera passed away at her home surrounded by her children on Thursday, December 19, 2019.
Vera is preceded in death by husband, Robert, sisters; Norris (Ralph) Binns, Sandra (Gil) Perry, Carolyn (George) Fulks, and grand-daughter, NaTesa Houpe. She is survived by brother, Wessoloski (Roslyn) Kelley, Jr. and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins that remember her fondly.
A private graveside service will be held for family at Glen Rest Memorial Estate on Wednesday, January 8, 2020. Services entrusted to DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE. Visit Vera's online tribute wall at www.diehl-whittaker.com

I was a neighbor 3 houses down from the houpe's. I hung out with Tim growing up, we rode bikes & Mr Houpe threw a block party that was blocked off. those memories you never forget. Mr. & Mrs Houpe a "Ray of sunshine"

So very saddened to see that Vera has taken fight to join Mr. Houpe and other family members. She was my "best" supervisor at DSCC. I would tease her and tell her that I was leaving when she did because she was the best. Intelligent, humble, caring lady but could read you in such a nice way if needed. She never let anything move her. I remember trying to get her to the airport when she won an honor that she had to receive in DC. She was like I will get there and her granddaughter was going along and was afraid they would miss their flight. I could go on with the things that are bringing smiles to my face even today about this beautiful lady. Resting in God's Arms Now. Love and prayers to the family for you are so Blessed to have been and are a part of this phenomenal legacy.
