DAVIS William C. "Pablo" Davis, 61, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, November 30, 2010. Born February 25, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio. Pablo enjoyed a robust life in the business world as a leader in the creation of the music of the 70's and 80's. He retired from the music industry in the early 90's, and started a second career in small business counseling, as an award winning business development specialist with the Small Business Administration, where he remained until his death. Pablo was a track star at Glenville High School in Cleveland. He was also a proud graduate of Ohio University and member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Pablo was known throughout the nation, if not the world, as a person that strived to make everyone happy. He loved life, water sports, good food, children, and especially his family in Cleveland and Columbus. Most of his adult life was spent in Columbus, but he also lived in New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta, during his entertainment career. Pablo was a successful music producer, director and promoter for 25 years. He was instrumental in the careers of the following entertainers: Midnight Star, Baby Face, After 7, Cameo, The Deal and many others. His influence made an indelible mark in the music that we hear even today. As a community leader, he led the Columbus Near East Area Commission in the Ameriflora years, as well as donated many hours to coaching entrepreneurs, helping them to reach their business goals. Pablo was preceded in death by his mother Olga Dailor Willis Davis, and father William H. Davis, Sr. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Caristan (Charles); sons, Vaughn and Paul Davis; daughter, Robin Mosely; brothers, Berry G. Davis, William H. Davis, Jr., Jeffrey Springer, Scott Davis; and a host of other family friends and loved ones who will miss him dearly. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the William Pablo Davis Scholarship Fund for African-American Business students, Ohio University, at Huntington National Bank. Funeral Service 7 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2010 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 639 E. Long Street, where the family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the start of service. Pablo was my frat but most of all, he was my friend. We shared many good times at Ohio University and many gatherings after leaving Harvard on the Hocking.
I miss his calls and the many pics he sent out weekly.

I am sadden to hear a good friend has passed on. I've only known Pablo for about three years, but I could tell he was someone who cared about helping others. We worked together on a SBA project in Dayton at the Urban League. He was a man who didn't mind sharing his knowledge. I learned from him an looked forward to working with him this year. GOD had bigger plans. Rest in peace. You will be missed.

William"Pablo" Davis was my brother. We'd known each other since 1958 when we lived on E.117th Street, just doors from each other. PABLO never changed, his essence was always playful, manish, and gregarious, he would get on your last nerve, but he was sweet and very generous to everyone that he loved. I have pictures of all us at my 10th birthday party. My brother, Eddy and Pablo had a very special bond from Rosedale Elementary, Harry E. Davis, Glenville HS, OU and yes, even Central State , where they both got on my nerves for real! I was especially glad when they got their GPA up and went back to OU. Their relationship was well, only God can speak on that.
I guess they're in Heaven doing the the Omega stomp acting like two bad little boys! I'll love and miss both of them for the rest of my life...

"Hold a true friend with both your hands." I feel a great lose with the pasting 0f William Pablo Davis. He was a friend and confidante. A mentor to both my biological and surrogate children [Self EsteemTeam]. He was a renaisannce man, entrepreneur, just an overall good guy. He never raised my rent in 25 yrs.- undoubtedly much of the reason for the success of the program. Some people say the right thing, Pablo was a do'er. "A friend is one of the nicest things you can have and one of the best things you can be." You were all that my brother and more.

Pablo, I can still hear you say my name the way only you could. I can still see your smile brighten even the darkest room. I can still hear your laughter roaring through a crowd setting off an epidemic of joy. I can still browse through my inbox folder and read your emails knowing that you cared enough to share. More importantly, I feel the indelible mark on my heart where you came and left your foot print. I love you and you will be greatly missed on this earth.

In Memory of William "Pablo" Davis

Another lion has left the pack to move on to higher pastures. His roar was only matched by his laughter. Those who knew him know he was fearless in the hunt. He lead always with his head held high and his mind and heart on the prize. He inspired others as he gave wings to their dreams while he knocked down doors and removed doubt.

It's hard to believe the person who was so in love with really "living" this life on earth is no longer with us. He has gone to a much better place. My husband, Izzy, met Pablo in the 7th grade. I did not meet him until I Izzy and I married, 33 years ago. I believe he was selling the green lightsticks at the Ohio State Fair at the time. Anyone remember that? (picture provided)... He always had interesting ventures underway... remember the limosines? I'm blessed to have known him... I am a better person for it. The family and all his many friends are in my thoughts and prayers.
